The Ohio Investigative Unit is hosting a series of Government Outreach Seminars. This is a great opportunity for each of your agencies and for our staff to sit down with you and discuss what we do, what our partners do and how we can help you better police or enforce liquor laws in the state of Ohio. This is an effort to form partnerships with various law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and other municipal and county officials throughout Ohio.
During the one-day seminar you will hear about the various facets of liquor laws and enforcement –we want you to know what it is that you can do, how all of us can help you if you need it and other services that we can offer. It is designed to explain what the Investigative Unit does and the various ways we can assist local governments with problem establishments, additional agents, tracing sales of alcohol and awareness programs. You are also given information on how liquor establishments obtain their licenses, the liquor hearing process, nuisance abatement, and what steps local governments can take to object to the issuance or renewal of a permit.
Speakers include officials from the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s (ODPS) Investigative Unit, as well as the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of Liquor Control, Ohio Liquor Control Commission, Ohio Attorney General’s Office and Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services.
Local governments wishing to host a seminar should contact the Ohio Investigative Unit at (614) 752-5587 for more information.
